- REGULAR MEETING
The Poland Township Board of Trustees held a regular meeting May 12, 2021 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road Poland, Ohio.
Mr. Ungaro calls the meeting to order.
Chief Goodin leads the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mr. Scharville does roll call. Ungaro, Kempers, and Wollet are present.
RECOGNITION OF GUESTS:
Mr. Ungaro introduces Dan McGahagan from Armstrong, he informs the board that VSA expires every ten years and not much has changed from the original contract to the VSA.
Mr. Ungaro and the Trustees give praise to Sergeant Jackson for earning the position of sergeant for the police force of Poland Township.
Mr. Ungaro introduces Laurie Fox from Poland Historical Society. She discusses having an outdoor event with food and music for celebrating the history of Poland Township.
Mr. Ungaro motions to approve the Regular minutes dated April 14, 2021 and May 10, 2021. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes - Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
Mr. Ungaro motions to authorize payment for all outstanding bills for the Township. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
Mr. Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #21-19: Nuisance Notice, for the following;

ADMINISTRATION:
Financial report- no information available currently.
Mr. Ungaro motions to approve payments for Memorial Day expenses to American Legion Post 15 and Post 247 in the amount of $250.00 each. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
PARK COMMITTEE:
Mr. Flicky is present to give monthly report.
RECYCLING:
Mr. Scharville - nothing to report.
ZONING DEPARTMENT:
Mr. Robert Monus is present to give monthly report.
Monthly report from April.
- 2 new structures, valuation- $462,930; fees collected-$3,237
- 24 additional improvements, valuation-$267,731; fees collected-$2,060
- 2 misc. permits issued for a total of -$10.00; 2-appeals, misc- $550; 1-admendment, valuation-$275; 42 violations for the month; total valuation for the month- $730,661; total fees collected-$6,132.
ROAD DEPARTMENT:
Mr. Scharville is present to give monthly report.
Mr. Ungaro motions to approve Penn Ohio for the resurfacing project of Hilltop road not to exceed $7,000. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
Mr. Ungaro motions to approve Brenden Gurd, Jack Brant, Carmen Pagano and Josh Lowe for seasonal help at seasonal rate. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Chief Goodin is present to give monthly report.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
